Hyundai Motor India has launched the new Hyundai Creta, a mid-size SUV that promises to deliver a power-packed performance, advanced technology, safety, and comfort features. Hyundai Motor India is all set to launch the facelifted version of its popular SUV, the Creta, on January 16, 2024. The new Creta will come with major design changes, new features, and a new engine option. Here is a quick overview of what’s new in the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift.
The new Hyundai Creta features a robust and modern exterior design with a blend of functional and premium elements. The front look of the SUV is dominated by the new radiator grill and upright hood design, which display a strong, assertive, and distinct road presence. The new Hyundai Creta also boasts of new Horizon LED Positioning lamp and DRLs and Quad beam LED headlamps, which enhance the visibility and aesthetic appeal of the SUV. The side profile of the new Hyundai Creta showcases a dynamic and sporty silhouette, with a sloping roofline, chrome door handles, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear look of the new Hyundai Creta is equally impressive, with a unique LED tail lamp design, a shark fin antenna, and a dual-tone bumper.
The interior design is futuristic and cockpit-like, with a seamlessly integrated infotainment screen and digital cluster displaying a wide range of information. The new Hyundai Creta 2024 comes with 3-engine options, including the power-packed 1.5l Kappa Turbo GDi Petrol, sporty, 1.5l MPi Petrol, and 1.5l U2 CRDi Diesel engine options. The new Hyundai Creta also offers four transmission options, including a 6-speed Manual, IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission), 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), and 6-speed Automatic transmission. The new Hyundai Creta also features a Drive Mode Select function, which allows the driver to choose from three modes: Eco, Comfort, and Sport. Additionally, the new Hyundai Creta also has a Paddle Shifter feature, which enables the driver to shift gears with the touch of a finger.
Safety and Convenience
Some of the notable safety features of the new Hyundai Creta are Blind Spot View Monitor, SmartSense – Level 2 ADAS features, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The new Hyundai Creta also has 70+ safety features, including 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Control, and many more. The new Hyundai Creta also offers a host of convenience features, such as a Smart Key with Push Button Start, a Smart Electric Tailgate, a Rear View Monitor, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
The 2024 Creta features a completely revamped front fascia, with a larger and sleeker three-row grille that differs from the parametric jewels found on other models in the company’s lineup. The SUV’s front now has a more upright and bold stance compared to its predecessor. Notable changes include updated projector LED headlights, H-shaped LED DRLs similar to the new Santa Fe in the international market, a new bumper design, and vertically stacked fog lamps.
The rear of the SUV also gets a makeover, with a connected LED tail lamp setup, a new bumper, a sporty roof-mounted spoiler, and a redesigned tailgate to accommodate these updates. The side profile remains largely unchanged, except for the introduction of new alloy wheels, expected to be offered in 17-inch and 18-inch options depending on the trim.
The interior of the new Creta also gets some upgrades, such as two 10.25-inch screens, one for the digital instrument cluster and one for the touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard also gets some new design elements, along with refreshed textures and materials for the upholstery.
The new Creta also comes with a host of new features, including dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a Level 2 ADAS suite with 19 functions. The ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and more. The SUV also gets a 360-degree camera and a blind spot monitoring system.
The 2024 Creta will offer three engine options, the existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units from the outgoing model and a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine sourced from the latest-gen Verna, which will replace the discontinued 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor. The new turbo petrol engine will produce 160bhp of power and will be available with both manual and DCT gearbox options. The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will produce 115bhp of power each and will be offered with manual, IVT, and torque converter automatic transmissions.
Price and Rivals
Hyundai has not revealed the prices of the new Creta yet, but it is expected to start from Rs 10.90 lakh to ₹ 19,20,200 (ex-showroom) onwards. The new Creta will compete with the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
