The Indian Air Force Heritage Centre Chandigarh is located in the Government Press Building, Sector 18, Chandigarh. It was inaugurated on May 8, 2023, by India’s Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. It is India’s first air force heritage centre. It spreads across 17,000 sq ft. India Air Force Chandigarh heritage centre was created to showcase the history, major war contributions, and modern capabilities of the Indian Air Force (IAF). Its main attractions include a flight simulator, aircraft models, and weapons displays.
The Indian Air Force Heritage Museum Chandigarh opening and closing timings are Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. It is fully closed on Monday. Parking for cars and two-wheelers is free.
As of the latest available information, the Indian Air Force Chandigarh Museum ticket price is ₹50 per person for those above 18 years. If you want to experience the Immersive Flight Simulator, its ticket price is ₹295 per person. Entry ticket for all children below 18 years and persons with disabilities is free. But the immersive experience ticket is not free for any category of person. Visitors can usually purchase tickets at the counter, although online booking is also available. You can experience flight simulators that simulate flying fighter planes and helicopters. It includes Virtual Reality (VR) setups, augmented reality displays, and holographic projections. They also show 3D dioramas depicting famous campaigns and SAM-III Pechora missile systems.
The IAF museum displays many aircraft models, including a MiG-21 fighter jet, a Folland Gnat, a HAL HPT-32 Deepak trainer, and the historic Air Force Kanpur 1. You will also see missiles, heavy bombs, rockets, and guns.
