The 68th edition and Miss Universe 2019 competition was held on 8 December 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States.

Out of 90 contestants and among 20 semifinalists, Catriona Gray of the Philippines puts the crowns on the head of the new Miss Universe 2019 successor Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa with Madison Anderson, Miss Puerto Rico, coming in as first runner-up.

It is a great success and celebration for Africans that Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi has been crowned Miss Universe 2019 title.

Zozibini Tunzi of an answer to the question:

What is the most important thing we should teach young girls today?

She answered, “Leadership, We should be teaching these young girls to take up space. Nothing is more important than taking up space in society”. 

Zozibini Tunzi was looking more confident and natural in the final round than other runner-ups.
