On the contrary, the city was exposed to an unprecedented amount of rainfall that is equal to 1/3 of an average year’s rainfall, in a few hours. Implying that such levels of rain caused the roads and streets to flood hence causing much disruption. Due to the flooding, cars were stranded, major roads were underwater, and the Dubai airport also suffered, with many routes being canceled and Emirates not taking any passengers for that day. The entire scene was just surreal, with residents and the tourists completely amazed that the emirate, after all, is a land of sunshine. The room for the further diversion of the source that accompanies this unusual case cannot be explained. But it illustrates the extent of the impact of extreme weather conditions in other areas.
