It may be noted here, that this will be the first device to provide the most advanced version of the Android Operating system, Android 4.3 JellyBean (though many devices from last year can be upgraded to 4.3 including Asus Google Nexus 7; the first device to feature Android 4.1 JellyBean). Serving as the platform for these like features, let’s have a look into the Specifications and features of New Asus Google Nexus 7 with a comparison of specifications and features of Nexus 7, responsible for the price hike.
Google Nexus 7 Specifications and Features:
With the increase in features, there is a considerable increase in the comfort too. The basic dimensions are not compromised but they have been made more ready to hand by adjusting the screen smartly. The New Nexus 7 ships 17% thinner and 5% narrower body than the Nexus 7, Moreover the device is made much lighter by reducing 15% of the weight, that lefts the New Nexus7 with 290 grams only.
There are no changes to the screen size of the tablet, it’s been the same at 7 inches. However, it will be much brighter and much sharper in New Nexus 7. There is an appreciable increase in the resolution of the retina display screen from 800X1280 pixels in Nexus 7 to 1920X1200 pixels in New Nexus 7. The pixel density has also been increased to 323 PPI (pixels per inch) form 216 PPI.
There are some solid changes in the Processor section. Running on the Latest Android 4.3 JellyBean OS, Google New Nexus 7 is processed by the SnapDragon S4 Pro Quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB RAM, while the Nexus 7 is powered by Android 4.1 JellyBean, Cortex A-9 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, ULP GeForce with 1 GB RAM. These major changes in the processor of the tablet enhance the processing speed of the tab which will allow apps to work and run faster providing smoother and flawless UI experience.
Though it would be clumsy shooting videos and click photos with your 7-inch Tablet, New Nexus 7 supports a Primary camera of 5 MP engraved on the rear of the tablet. The Front-facing camera (Secondary camera) for video-calling and other uses is kept at 1.2 MP as in Asus Google Nexus 7.
The speakers on Nexus 7 have been problematic for many users. In New Nexus7, the dual-speakers are engraved along the left and right edges of the tablet (when held horizontally). The sound quality has considerably increased in comparison.
Battery and Charging:
New Asus Google Nexus 7 is claimed to run continuously for longer periods, with a battery life of 10 hours for video-streaming and 9 hours for web browsing. Whereas, the Nexus7 battery backup was about 8 hours only. There is a chance to get rid of messy cords by using the wireless charger.
Smart synchronization between your Smartphone and New Nexus7 is achievable as; unless you don’t stop it, apps that you use on your Android Smartphone will automatically appear on your New Nexus7 tablet. Furthermore, Bookmarks and favorite places will also get transferred (while using Google Chrome as an Internet Browser) to provide smooth coordination between the devices.
“With the rear camera, comes the camera app”. This app was not made available in last year’s model (the reason is obvious, it doesn’t have a rear camera).
