Modern Furniture Trends

At the end of the day, trends are more than simply the latest colour or pattern – they’re a fantastic representation of where we are as a culture, what we value, and how we’re influenced. Consider this license to lean into these expert-approved ideas as much (or as little!) as you like as we look forward to 2022 and the entertaining modern furniture trends we’ve rounded up below. If the previous year has taught us anything, it’s that a house should represent the people who live there, a place where you can construct your brand of happiness. Here’s what you may expect to see in 2023 and beyond.

Alternatively, let’s have a look at the modern furniture trends for 2023:

1. Silhouettes of Curved Furniture

In 2022, curvaceous furniture is a significant design trend. Curves are both feminine and forgiving, making a space seem instantly cosier and more secure. Curves are a great way to add vivid colours to space since they lend themselves so well to huge, bold motifs.

Modern furniture is becoming more polished, emphasizing the marriage of form and function – think gentler curves that flaunt a stunning bareback. People want comfort as well as amusing, unique, and/or striking things that make a room seem fascinating and memorable.

2. Cabinetry with a decorative flair

Shaker-style cabinets are the most well-known cabinet profile. Clean lines and simplicity complement practically any design style, enabling other distinctive features of your kitchen (such as cabinetry colour or countertop choice) to take centre stage. If you want a more modern aesthetic, I usually recommend something unusual, such as a vertical panelled door feature or a flat-panel style with a very unique piece of hardware.

Shaker cabinets have been popular for a long time. However, instead of employing a basic shaker, the tendency is now to bevelled the shaker designs and rails for a distinctive aesthetic.

3. Bar in Home

Time spent at home does not imply that all enjoyment has been gone. Our houses have learned to flex between WFH zones and classrooms to fine dining restaurants and entertainment zones during the last year (and into the future year). In 2023, is there one iteration we’ll see a lot more of? Bars at home!!! Everyone wants a lovely, tricked-out bar in their houses right now, whether wet or dry.

These are just a few modern furniture trends expected in 2023. If you are looking for some trending modern furniture, make sure to check out websites like Kouboo to see what’s out there at the moment.
